Designed to give you an edge in preparation for the Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) Exam, this course will help you gain confidence in the five key competency areas of the CHFM test. Through a combination of lecture, CHFM-formatted practice test questions, and study materials, you will feel more prepared to take the CHFM exam and learn best practices for taking a computer-based test.

Class will be held as a joint partnership with SMSHE and will be facilitated by Jeffrey Lehmann of Medical Compliance Team and assisted by Gerald Smith. 

7 Contact Hours (0.7 CEUs) will be awarded following completion of the course.


Instructor Bios

Jeffrey Lehmann, CHFM, CHEM

Jeffrey Lehmann has a unique background that has suited him well for a career in consulting, with some sort of experience in every area of the Environment of Care. 
Jeffrey's work experience includes managing safety and emergency preparedness at a Level One Trauma Center, Critical Care Paramedic Supervisor, police officer, methamphetamine lab officer, public safety officer, Joint Commission Life Safety Surveyor, AAAHC Life Safety Surveyor, and Hazardous Materials Specialist. 
Jeffrey has over 14 years of experience surveying or consulting with hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers both as an accreditation surveyor and as a consultant. 
Jeffrey has experience both nationally and internationally in both large and small organizations. 

Gerald W. Smith

Retired since 2016; during a career spanning 42 years served as Manager of Construction Management and Properties,
McLaren Macomb, Director of Plant Operations, Oakwood Health Care, Dearborn,  Construction Project Manager, Oakwood Health Care System Corporate Construction, Operating Engineer Detroit Public Schools,  Allied Chemical, Public Lighting Commission, (City of Detroit; now Public Light District, Mistersky  Power Station 180MW.)
Representative for design and construction of approximately $250,000,000 new construction and renovation in hospital facilities including one of the few hospital co-generation plants (1.2 MW) at Oakwood Dearborn in 1996.
Licenses include;  1st Class Stationary Engineer, Steam and Refrigeration, City of Detroit, Michigan (1974-2019) 1st Class Stationary Engineer, City of Dearborn, Michigan (1975-2019) Registration 1st Class Stationary Engineer, State of Michigan.
43 years as an instructor, Basic and Advanced Boilers, Engineering, and Refrigeration Systems; instructional consultant for specialized sessions and seminars in building equipment, HVAC, boilers and refrigeration.
